With over 150 years of history, Hurns has grown from a small Swansea-based soda producer into a trusted drinks distributor across South Wales.
The Hurns Brewing Company has a proud history that spans over 150 years. Originally founded as the Hurns Mineral Water Company by Arthur A. Hurn in the late 1800s, our story began in Northampton Lane, Swansea, where we produced bottled soda water, ginger beer, lemonade, and cordials for the local community.

In 1966, Arthur’s son Idris sadly passed away. Just a month later, Idris’s son, who had been running the business, also passed unexpectedly. The company faced a period of uncertainty until Idris’s grandson, Phillip, and his sister Connie were old enough to step in. In 1976, they took over the business and led it into a new era of growth and success.

Under their leadership, Hurns shifted its focus to drinks distribution and wholesale, proudly serving the South of Wales with dedication and care.
Today, we continue to operate from two key distribution centres in Swansea and Caerphilly.
In 2025, the company entered its latest chapter when husband and wife team, Rhys and Chyrelle Anstee, purchased the business.
While ownership has changed, Hurns remains a family-run company, now under the stewardship of the Anstees, who are passionate about preserving its heritage and values.
Their vision is to honour the past while building an exciting future, continuing the legacy of a proudly independent, community-focused business.
