Over 150 years of Hurns
The Hurns story began in Swansea in the late 1800s, when Arthur A. Hurn founded the Hurns Mineral Water Company, producing soda water, ginger beer, lemonade and cordials for the local community.
Over the generations, Hurns grew and evolved into one of South Wales’ established drinks wholesalers, building its reputation on great service, strong customer relationships and a deep connection to the local drinks trade.
A new chapter
More than 150 years later, the Hurns story continues.
In 2025, Hurns was acquired by Rhys and Chyrelle Anstee, owners of Cellar Drinks Company.
In 2026, the two businesses brought their distribution operations together at Cellar Drinks Company new distribution centre in the Heads of the Valleys.
Today, Hurns is proudly part of Cellar Drinks Company, combining the heritage and brands of Hurns with the wider range, larger team and distribution capabilities of Cellar Drinks.
The Hurns name continues alongside our own drinks brands, including Taffy Cider, Cwrw Braf, High Tyde and Black Jack.
Our aim is simple: to build on more than 150 years of Hurns history while creating an even stronger future as part of Cellar Drinks Company.
